Behold the dreamer, the architect of this dark universe. The creator of the grotesque...

Admin_Name: Justine Labasteda A.K.A MegAdmin_Desc.:
Hello! I am a freelance artist from the Philippines.
I specialize in traditional and digital art with horror and sci-fi themes. You can easily recognize my art style from my cyberpunk and body horror themed drawings and by the intricate details that I produce on all my artworks as I especially draw in a chaotic and detailed way.
I absolutely love every kind of horror media. From books, to games, and films. And I also love everything about science fiction especially from the cyberpunk sub-genre.

Common inquiries from different [visitors]...

1.) What inspires you to draw?I gather inspiration mostly from my imagination, new and various ideas always come to mind. If I lack enough inspiration, I usually find them through daily living, emotions, music, and other forms of media.2.) Who are your artist inspirations?>Katsuhiro Otomo
>Kow Yokoyama
>Makoto Kobayashi
>Tsutomu Nihei
>Masamune Shirow
>Katsuya Terada
>H.R. Giger
>Kentaro Miura
>Zdzisław Beksiński
>Junji Ito
>Hiroki Endo
3.) How did you find your art style?I went through a lot of different art styles. My first one was the doodle art style that was popular back in the day. Then I started doing character designs and short comics so I then evolved to a comic style. When I started studying architecture, I learned the fundamentals of art and I evolved from a cartoony/comic style to realistic. After a while, I started drawing digitally and painting illustrations in watercolor and acrylics so I kinda evolved into a lowbrow style, I was drawing weird art back then. Since I love the horror and cyberpunk genre, I started drawing dark, creepy, dystopian, sci-fi stuff and I felt like I enjoy it more than doing the past art styles because it felt more personal to me. It's a combination of everything I love and years worth of drawing from different art styles. So yeah, I eventually found my art style from drawing a lot and evolving from different styles to another but I still feel like my current art style will change as I improve.4.) How do you conceptualize your drawings? The start of my process is coming up with ideas. I surround myself with different kinds of inspiration; art from social media, comics, anime, movies, games, artbooks, etc.. But if I'm feeling creative enough, ideas often naturally come to me like a eureka moment. Once I have an idea all set up in my head, I sketch various concepts while searching for/creating references related to that idea. This process takes 1-2 days in average or longer depending on how satisfied I am with the decided concept or how complex the design is.5.) Do you draw on digital?Yes! I now draw on digital although not often. I still prefer the traditional style.6.) What program do you use for digital art?I use Photoshop CS6 and Paint Tool Sai.7.) What materials do you use for drawing? For traditional art I use Faber-Castell pencils and Derwent charcoal pencils and Sakura Pigma Micron pens.
For digital art I use Wacom Intuos Draw (CTL-490)
